Product Design & Engineering (PDE) is a core area of activity of CMTI and PDE division undertakes design & development projects for public, private, general engineering sectors and premier R&D institutions.  

Since its inception, CMTI has designed & developed New products / solutions for diverse clientele focusing on new challenges, innovation & Pre-Competitive Research and Development.

The manpower at CMTI is highly qualified, trained, innovative, multi-skilled, multi-domain with Research aptitude and Cumulative Design experience of over 300 man years. Special skill sets include Precision Machine Design, Robotics, Mechatronics, Hydraulics, FEA, FMEA, Control system Design with national & international exposure.

CAD/CAE facility / tools include latest 2D & 3D CAD modeling, Simulation software, FEA software, specialized software packages for design of machine element and function analysis. CAD/CAE Facilities :

Product Lifecycle Management tools deployed in CMTI provide a digitally integrated engineering environment for a more reliable & faster New Product Development process by ensuring design quality, design & development process discipline, design, manufacture, assembly & testing knowledge capture & reuse, practice of concurrent engineering coupled with Project management & tracking.

Design capabilities are supported by the in-house, fully equipped Manufacturing, Assembly, Inspection facility and Chemical, Metallurgy and Noise & Vibration laboratories which empowers Product Design & Engineering Division to address new challenges of the manufacturing sector.
